Summer Trail Crew for Teens
Merck Forest and Farmland Center (MFFC) would love for you to join our summer weeklong trail crew program. It's a great way to volunteer as part of a team in a safe, fun, hands-on environment. MFFC's service learning program is designed for high school students age 14 - 18 who enjoy working and learning in the outdoors. Join us outside for a week to learn all about stewardship, teamwork and the joy of trail maintenance. On your trip you can expect fun projects led by experienced crew leaders and you will be provided all camping gear (except sleeping bags) and your meals for the week.
For MFFC members, a $195 donation covers the cost for the first trip and $145 for each additional trip. Because there are costs associated with running a program of this type, your donation helps pay for a portion of food, gear, equipment and other expenses. Non-members will pay an additional $50 for their first trip which will enroll them as MFFC members. There will be a $30 cancellation fee for cancellations made more than three weeks before a trip. No refunds will be given for cancellations less than three weeks prior to a trip. Full payment is due before participation in a trip, ideally within two weeks of signing up. If a trip is full and you would like to be added to a waitlist, please call us at (802) 394-7836 or email email@example.com.
As there is a six participant minimum for a trip, trips costs will be refunded in full if a trip does not fill. Check out our Trail Crew for Teens FAQ that includes more information about what to expect on our trips and and the application and payment process.
